Holy Week Up North
I promised I’d post photos and videos of our trip up north during Holy Week. Our trip consisted of traveling the North loop… much like John Rana’s Vespa trip. We spent a night each in the following towns, Banaue in Ifugao, Iguig in Cagayan where (Mimi’s maternal grandfather was from), Claveria also in Cagayan and Caoayan (near Vigan) in Ilocos Sur. Mimi’s dad even remember seeing Ms. Campbell while we were in Banaue, as she stood out as a lone Caucasian lady walking the streets of Banaue.
Claveria is around an hour away from the famed Pagudpud Beach in Ilocos Norte. Pagudpud was packed during Holy Week so we were happy that Claveria was relatively less crowded and the waves… they were huge!
That’s me on the left, submerged. Hehe.
I uploaded related videos up on Youtube. Photo above and videos below courtesy of Mimi’s cousin.
Video of the salbabida that almost got away.
Video of us challenging the waves.
We decided to bring only one camera body and 2 lenses which we didn’t get to use much.
Mimi’s cousin Kim was mostly the reason for the roadtrip as she was in town for vacation:
Life-size Stations of the Cross at Calvary Hills in Iguig:
Mimi’s brother having his self-portrait taken at Paoay Church:
Aside from Paoay Church in Ilocos Norte, we were able to visit three other UNESCO World Heritage Sites on this trip… the Banaue Rice Terraces, Crisologo St. in Vigan, Ilocos Sur and the Sta. Maria Church also in Ilocos Sur.
